Where has summer gone?

Yes, I know it’s still early June, but just over a week ago we were basking in glorious sunshine and warmth on a trip to Beaminster, Dorset. What a lovely place it is nestling amongst the dramatic hills which remind me of a giant green armchair, cosy and welcoming.

I’ve always loved Dorset and am glad it’s only a short ride away from me in Hampshire.

My partner was on a mission to find info regarding his ancestors who were numerous in the Beaminster area. We were told there was still a family member living there but weren’t brave enough to make contact. Anyway, she might not have been too thrilled to see a couple of strangers turn up on her doorstep!!!

Beaminster Church and pretty rose covered cottage.
  • We found a wonderful vegan and gluten free cafĂ© which was a great relief because my partner has just been diagnosed with gluten intolerance. The owner was very welcoming and friendly and the food , out of this world.

My crafting has comprised mainly of Sock Set samples. My fingers and shoulders haven’t been too pleased about the amount of knitting on 2.25mm needles but it’s worth it. It’s always nice to see how a yarn knits up.

I hope your crafting is keeping you happy. I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t create something, however small, everyday.

Take care, everyone.
